I just returned from attending Hugh Hefner’s Halloween Party at Playboy Mansion in Hollywood where we raised $5.4 million for charity. The press was not allowed inside the party, but some of them called this event immoral because it was held at the iconic epicenter of the sexual revolution. Watch this short video I taped in Beverly Hills and I’ll look forward to your comments. Steve Siebold

Steve,
for an old German, this is a funny subject. First of all 2000 years ago and for many centuries afterwards, sex was a way of life, and not vilified, like in the last few hundred years. In Greece at some time each male adolescent had to have a homosexual experience.
In Germany (and much of especially Northern Europe) the whole subject of sex is much more relaxed. Already in the mid 70s you had public advertising for a soap with full frontal nudity of a woman. The clothing optional culture comes in part from Germany and Scandinavia. In Munich’s big park, which is less than 2 miles from the city center, clothing optional has moved form 3-4 miles north right to the beginning of the park. Interesting enough that’s where the American Consulate is in Munich and from the 3rd floor windows you have a great view.
When I moved to Munich in 1966 we had a public indoor swimming pool, clothing optional 2 days male only, 2 days female only and 3 days coed. You also visit the sauna without clothes. Prostitution is not only legal, but the girls have to have weekly health checks (and pay taxes).
The other side of the coin Germany has about 150k abortions per year, compared to 1.2M in the US. In Cologne, being unfaithful during Carnival season is to be expected and not a reason for divorce.
Personally, abortions should just be the last resort. With modern birth control methods available, there is no reason that abortion is a $500M+ business. Both men and women should be held personally accountable for having protected sex, if they don’t want children.
Sex is part of nature and life and a force stronger than society will ever be able to control or channel. Each person should live up to their own moral standards on this subject, as long as nobody else gets hurt.
